King Lear, Act 1, Scene 4. Albany appears genuinely oblivious to his wife Goneril’s cruelty to King Lear and does not seem to be part of her plot to betray and oust her father. However, Albany’s love for his wife has clearly blinded him to her wicked side and he is slow to see this.
