Macbeth, Act 3, Scene 1. In these final lies of the scene, Macbeth foreshadows Banquo’s murder. He has hired murderers to attack and kill Banquo and his son while they are the road. He believes Banquo and his descendants are a threat to him holding onto the throne of Scotland because of the Witches’ prophecy.
