Macbeth, Act 2, Scene 4. Macduff who is not attending Macbeth’s coronation bids farewell to Ross who is on his way there. He uses a clothing metaphor to suggest that Duncan may prove to have been a better king than Macbeth will be. This is foreshadowing of Macbeth’s brutal and tyrannical reign.
