A Streetcar Named Desire, Scene 10. Blanche blatantly lies to Stanley about Mitch coming to her with roses and begging her to forgive him, when nothing of the sort happened. She claims that Mitch was full of remorse for repeating Stanley’s "slander" about her past life. Blanche continues with her fantasy that she sent Mitch packing, when the reality is that Mitch broke up with her.
