A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Act 5, Scene 1. Philostrate is not enamored of the group of Mechanicals who want to put on a play for Duke Theseus’ wedding. He tells Theseus that they are uneducated manual workers who have never had to do anything that required thinking. They have overtaxed their under-exercised minds to create this play, he maintains.
