A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Act 5, Scene 1. In his final lines, Snout the tinker announces that his role as Wall is finished. He plays the Wall that separates two lovers, who are able to communicate through a "chink" in it. It’s hard to imagine anything more ridiculous and comical than a wall announcing its imminent exit, then sprouting legs and walking off stage.
