A Streetcar Named Desire, Scene 10. Blanche, all dressed up at the beginning of this scene, lies to Stanley about having just received a telegram from an old admirer Shep Huntleigh. She makes up a story that Shep has invited her to take a cruise of the Caribbean on his yacht. Retreating into the realm of fantasy, her lies make her seem foolish and childish.
