STANLEY [booming]: Now let’s cut the re-bop?
BLANCHE [pressing hands to her ears]: Ouuuuu!

– Tennessee Williams

A Streetcar Named Desire, Scene 2. Stanley expresses his masculinity when he loudly tells Blanche to stop jabbering on about nothing. Blanche dramatically presses her hands to her ears and cries out. Rebop is a word from jazz culture to donate music that was fast, discordant and often screechy. In this case Stanley is talking about Blanche’s repetitive chatter.
