– Geoffrey Chaucer
The Canterbury Tales, The Pardoner’s Tale. After the Pardoner’s invite to the Host to kiss his "relics" and loosen his purse buckle, Harry Bailly launches a violently verbal assault on the greedy, hypocritical Pardoner. He threatens to have the Pardoner’s testicles cut off and enshrined in a hog’s turd. The Pardoner, so angry that he doesn’t answer, is shamed into silence.
