Othello, Act 1, Scene 1. Here Brabantio accuses Othello of witchcraft and winning his daughter with magic spells. His racial prejudice won’t allow him to accept that Desdemona would willingly have a relationship with a black man from North Africa. He also also sees his virgin daughter as an item of property, revealing his sexist attitude towards women.
