Othello, Act 5, Scene 1. Themes of misogyny and deception appear in Iago’s derogatory comments about Bianca. He tries to implicate her in Cassio’s stabbing and attacks her credibility by pointing out that she is "trash" – a prostitute. Just before this he referred to her as "O notable strumpet!" There is dramatic irony here, since the audience knows that it was Iago who stabbed Cassio, but he is trying to deflect suspicion away from himself.
