Othello, Act 5, Scene 2. Othello says this to Desdemona before he kills her. His mind is made up and he will not spare his wife no matter what she says or tries to deny. He is not able to remove the "strong conception" of his wife’s infidelity planted in his mind by Iago. It is as though he has been impregnated by Iago, and he has, by Iago pouring poison into his ear. Shakespeare uses a metaphor to describe Othello being unable to "choke" this idea planted by Iago.
