Put money in thy purse.
– William Shakespeare
Othello, Act 1, Scene 3. Iago says this numerous times in this scene to Roderigo, finally persuading him to sell all his land. Iago convinces a gullible Roderigo that by using money and gifts he can help Roderigo win Desdemona’s heart when she tires of Othello. But Iago just wants Roderigo’s money for himself and to use him as part of his plan to ruin Othello.
