The Picture of Dorian Gray, Chapter 8. Dorian believes that Sibyl who represented goodness would have kept him straight if she had lived. So he calls her selfish for killing herself. He has no understanding that his actions led to Sibyl’s death and he is only focused on the pain it is causing him. So it is ironic of him to call her selfish, when that description applies more so to him.
