The Crucible, Act 3. According to the stage directions, Mary Warren screams this out hysterically while pointing at John Proctor. She lies that he asked her to sign her name in the Devil’s book. She claims that Proctor forced her with threats of murder to change her testimony and "overthrow the court" in order to save his wife from hanging.
