The Grapes of Wrath, Chapter 24. A man called Black Hat tells a story about a revolt by workers at rubber companies in Arkon, Ohio. In their fight for better pay they organize themselves into a union and stage a huge "turkey shoot" solidarity march. Black Hat says that it is time for the migrants at Weedpatch to have their own "turkey shoot" rebellion. This is foreshadowing of the workers unity and strike action in Chapter 26.
