The Iliad, Book 9, lines 42-45. The courageous warrior Diomedes is not afraid to stand up to Agamemnon. Here he tells him that Zeus gave him gifts by halves, he gave him the honor of being king but never gave him courage. He calls out Agamemnon, who is considering running for the ships and sailing home, as a coward.
