The Iliad, Book 16, lines 976-977. Hector taunts the dying Patroclus, telling him that his body will be food for the vultures and Achilles cannot save him now. This foreshadows the disrespect that Achilles will later show Hector – dragging Hector’s body behind his chariot after killing.
