The Odyssey, Book 2, lines 210-213. Suitor Eurymachus warns Halitherses not to incite Telemachus, after the prophet predicts the return of a vengeful Odysseus. Eurymachus comes up with a prophecy of his own, that the young prince will be the first to be hurt. Using a simile, he mockingly refers to the old prophet as being as "wise as the ages."
